Hi Bill ----

I didn't see any of the chart based stuff in the demo, but it is a really interesting way to take a test. What I like about it is that they are moving away from rote memorization and more into analytical ability. This is a much better way to certify people, IMHO, as I know a lot of MCSDs and MCSEs wandering around who have little real-world qualifications, yet know how to cram for a test. This changes that dilemma.

>For those of you who did not read the thread that mentioned this test, Microsoft is changing the way their certification tests are designed. In addition to the usual multiple choice questions, they are also featuring sorted lists (place events or data objects in the corect order), tree diagrams (identify which characteristics apply to several categories, choosing froma list of characteristics), and flow diagrams (both data flow diagrams and process flow diagrams).

This is apparently the way that Microsoft is patterning their future exams, and if you walk in to an exam cold, expecting the old multiple-guess questions, you're in for a BIG surprise. It is MUCH harder, and involves reviewing a case study or problem description that may apply to several questions.
