I don't know what you are doing there, but I have worked quite happily with 2.5 million records, indexing, searching, cross-tabbing, et-al with no problem at all. (The longest process took about ten minutes). In a previous job, I dealt with over three million records with multiple indexes cross-referencing to remove duplicate postal addresses and the complete process (which covered seven different processes) took about five days on a DX4-100 (that was FAST at the time). BTW, my 2.5 million is on a P166 with 32MB RAM!
