Completely! I've a lot of more complex code that works in VFP 5, but causes all kind of strange errors in VFP 6. For example, a GPF (well, that's normal *g*), a syntax error about 200 lines after the release statement, or dangling references when there's a grid on the form. Unfortunately all these problems only occur in a complex aplication, not when I try to reproduce a simple test case. Therefore, I can't really report them as a bug to Microsoft.

Many of it seems to be a timing issue. As if VFP 6 now releases objects in a separate thread. Also they seemed to change the order in which an object is released. I suppose your problem is caused by this.
