Firstly thanks for the help! I found out my real problem was that their was a central profile (stored on the network) specified for my userid. Here I had a ntuser.man showing up in my root dir for my username (ThankYou Mike Levy for showing my the light!) I tried renaming that file but NT just put it right back. Then I went digging in the registry profiles list and to find what made my normal login name different from the others. Once I wiped out the value for that central profile key, all was well.... things are sticky again!!! :)
