We tried this, and it's a BIG job. Converting to .dxf files and using AutoLisp files. One solution is to move from AutoCad to Aperture, or use both. Aperture imports the AutoCad files, then supports tables as the generation tool for graphics. This allows you to store and access data from from where it belongs *a table* not a graphical object. Newer versions of AutoCad are also moving in this direction.
