>I am preparing to buy a new machine. I am having trouble deciding which version of Windows to get. I am currently using NT Workstation. I am considering using Windows 98 on the new machine. I am going to put Windows 98 (my kids will be using this computer) on my old machine and connect a peer-to-peer network with the new computer. I will also be connecting to my office network using PPTP over the 'Net.

Considering that MS has allready announced that NT will become Win2000 and development will stop on the Win9x line, I would go with NT. One other thing, be aware that their are problems using Win98 on older hardware before you attempt to load it on you old machine, you should check the hardware compatilibity list at http://www.microsoft.com/hwtest/hcl/.
