**************** NORTHERN NEW JERSEY FOXPRO JIM BOOTH *************

DATE: Thursday January 28, 1999 at 7pm.

LOCATION: The Ground Round Restaurant on Rte 4 in Hackensack.

Informal start: 6:30. Speaker 7:00pm.

Speaker: Jim Booth.

Our guest speaker will be the one and only Jim Booth. Jim's topic will be OLE Drag and Drop. OLE Drag and Drop is new to Visual FoxPro 6.0 and to most Visual FoxPro developers, but it needn't be overwhelming. OLE Drag and Drop has more functionality than the native Drag and Drop of Visual FoxPro. Jim will compare the two approaches to implementing drag and drop in your applications.

The focus will be on OLE Drag and Drop with its ability to interact with other applications and ActiveX controls. Jim will also examine the use of Drag and Drop techniques in user interface design. When is Drag and Drop a sensible idea and when is it silly? What situations might require a Drag and Drop interface or be greatly enhanced by using Drag and Drop? How can Drag and Drop give us a whole new way of presenting data to our users?

Jim has spoken at our and other Padd meetings many times and would seem to need no introduction. Jim is a Visual FoxPro developer and trainer. He has written articles for the major FoxPro journals and has spoken at conferences in North America and Europe. He was a co-author for "Visual FoxPro Unleashed" published by Sams.

Our next meeting will be on Thursday February 25. Speaker: Mac Rubel.

Hope to see you there.
