Sunny,

Here are my notes from MS on fixing the *appropriate license for class not found* when attempting to use control in development mode.

Without attempting to change the Registry, use Regedit to view it.
Under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT: There is a subkey named Licenses
Under Licenses there SHOULD be a subkey beginning with DB4C0D00-

This is the License for MOST visual FoxPro (3 & 5) .ocx controls that ship with the product.
If this key is missing, all but a few .ocx files will quit working.
If you uninstalled an .exe that you created, that had an active-x control on it, the key was probably removed. If you uninstalled an earlier version of VFP, the key was probably removed

If the key is present, these files may be missing.
mfc30.dll, olepro32.dll, msvcrt20.dll, mfc40.dll, msvcrt10.dll, msvcrt40.dll

If key is missing, and you don’t have some kind of registry backup utility,
it’s time to reinstall Visual FoxPro

Regarding the re-install of VFP as a cure for the missing key:
This works. Skipping some steps has not, so for now:

1. Use add/remove from control panel to remove VFP.
(NOT setup or uninstall from the disk or CD)

2. Use Explorer or Winfile to remove leftover files in the VFP directory.

3. Empty the recycle bin
(Don’t skip this step - VFP setup can recover *according* to MS)

4. Use original product disk/CD to install
(re-install should NOT be an option, or something was missed)

This fixed mine (after 3 attempts of not following exactly).
My key was missing.

Good luck,
Glenn
