Well, it was worth a shot. In which band do the stretchable fields occur, and is the break occurring within this band or in another, lower band?

>>You might want to check if "constant band height" is checked on the report band >in question. I don't know for sure, but I'd guess that if a stretchable field >grows past the limit of a constant band, a page break would result.

>I did check that, and nope, its not set. I have found that 9 lines is where the last item in the detail band pushes teh bottom of teh page, but I still don't know why a page break is inserted where it is....I would think it would fit as much as it could onto the page...

>>>I have a report which has worked great for a while. There are 5 growable fields on top (containing date ranges). If those fields go beyond some number of lines (on some printers 9 lines, others 12) a PageBreak is inserted, and 1/2 the page is left blank, and the report continues (as if nothing were screwy) on the second page.
>>>
>>>has anyone seen this? there is plenty of room to fit at least PART of the rest of the page on the first page, but it pushes EVERYTHING onto the second..
