We are only talking about a day? What about using the Windows Task Scheduler (the one that always tries to optimize your hard disk by default) and let it launch a program once a day. This program than could check all clients in a regular interval (once a day, or even every hour, or so) and report anything to the user. No VFP timer involved, your VFP application doesn't have to run, and Windows takes care of it.
