App does not respond to input
I recently ported an application from Windows 3.1 to NT 4.0. Now I've noticed that whenever the app calls a function in a 16-bit DLL (registered through FOXTOOLS) it ignores any keypress and mouse clicks that might be occuring at that precise moment. Once the function has completed, the app starts recognizing user input again.
This is a real problem because I'm using a timer control to call the 16-bit function in the background once every second. If the user happens to be keying in something at that moment, the control sometimes misses a keystroke (or mouse click).
The app was created with VFP 3.0. However I have started using version 6.0 in the development environment and also experience the same problem with programs run from the command window. For example, a program which makes repeated calls (through a loop) to the 16_bit function does not respond to the 'escape' key (which would normally interrupt program execution).
Any suggestions ?
