>The VB community is at least as concerned about its future and the viability of their tool as the VFP community. If the UI is supposed to be HTML/DHTML and the back-end is supposed to be SQL Server, you still need a middle-tier that can deal with data. VB can't without ODBC or ADO. VB6 is getting labeled as too buggy by a lot of people, particularly one notable author, and some of the community is growing tired of waiting for their tool to get OOP. As far as management is concerned, there seems to be less of a concern for what something is written in and more of a concern for "can you actually make it work?" than I've ever seen before. IMO, dbfs are one of the least valuable things that VFP has to offer and therefore, the dbfs viability as a data store is largely irrelevant.

Don't mind. It's because I'm in a bad mood: have to work with VB, today only (don't perceive it as more gloom :). Tomorrow, I should be Ok :).
