Jane,

If VFP is creating them they are in the report. Maybe you have some lines that are set to a pen/color that makes them invisible in the designer. Try dragging the mouse through an empty area where the lines appear to be printing and hit the delete key.

Short of that you may need to select all the items you want to keep, move them to another band and get rid of everything else. You can also Edit, Select All, then go though and unselect the things to keep and hit the delete to delete the unwanted items.
