If you take a look in the FAQ, you'll find an enhanced replacement for getDir() that I wrote that uses the Shell.Application object's BrowseForFolder method. Shell.Application should be available on WinNt and Win9x systems other than original Win95 (retail) that never had the Win95 Service pack applied to bring it up to Win95a.
