Maybe there is something else going on. Access is pretty clear-cut. For example, if I load THISFORM.someproperty with "AAAAA" at design-time and have this code:

PROCEDURE someproperty_access
RETURN LEFT(THISFORM.someproperty,2)

Then x=THISFORM.someproperty will return "AA"
