I experienced an "insufficent memory error" while running a FPW 2.6A app on a P200 or faster PC. Thinking it was a SlowStart, Foxstart, DZpatch type problem, I installed them all. Unfortunately, this did not solve the problem.
We thought it might be a motherboard problem relating to the external cache...but that didn't solve it either. (even after disabling it). Chris Lange responded to my request and pointed out that there may have been a problem with arrays that exceed 600 items. When I tested out that theory, it proved to be exactly the problem. I tried modifiying the config.sys file with memlimit changes, etc. That did not do it. Christof pointed out that there was a file in the Foxuser forum that address this problem. I could not find it.
What I did to solve the problem was to convert the project (functionally) to VFP 5.0. The project converted 100% with no modifications necessary and the problem was instantly corrected.
Seems to me that the upgrade to Vis Fox may be a lot more inexpensive that trying to resolve array processing differences or doing major rewrites.
Anyway, for what it's worth...the Universal Thread has saved my client a lot of money.
