THis behaviour occurs when you insert a record, but the old record has not been validated by the grid. In other words: The insert triggers the valid event of the grid but the valid event does not apply to the record it belongs to because the current record pointer is on the newly added record.

One way to solve this problem is to get the focus off the grid before you add the record. In this way the Record is properly validated.
