This is strange, I have never had this happen. Try building another form from the VFP base form, putting only that table in the DE, and setting the order the way you did in the first form. Does it do the same thing? If not, then figure out what is different by slowly adding the elements of the problem form until the problem recreates itself. If so then try the same thing with a different index and then a different table.

My guess is that it is something simple you are overlooking.
