>>>I usually put OLE control inside transparent shape and use ToolTipText property of this shape. It always worked but remember that shape should be outside/around OLE, VFP doesn't recognize standard objects overlapped by OLE.

>>Edward, I must be overlooking something as I have just retried with the shape. I moved the ole button control over to a free area and made the shape bigger all around and the tooltip works anywhere on the shape except where the ole control is. ;( am i missing a point? also moved it to the front and to the back. I know its friday and I hate to be a pain. :) TIA

>It's exactly what you should see: VFP doesn't recognize standard controls overlapped by OLE! If 'bordered' tooltip is not good for you, you should consider using MouseDown/Up/Move events (e.g. invoke message on RightClick which is Win95 standard).

Thanks, Was a little confused with overlap and covered/surounded. I have decided to utilize right clicks. My thanks again.
