Ya, the HP drivers really suck (AFA VFP goes). My HP4000 driver bombs simply by trying to view an overlapping line in a report (although it prints fine). Most VFPers blame HP for buggy drivers but when my users say "I don't have ANY problem with other programs" what am I to say?!
