Michelle- is this a relative pathing issue? I mean, in your form class after you select the icon, does the full path to the icon show in the property sheet? If not, I think your problem is that the subclassed forms cannot find the icon because its location is different relative to the scx file.

To fix, just hand code the complete path to the icon file.

And Rich... take heart; inheritance works as you hoped. The sooner you start developing with your own classes instead of the base classes, the happier you will be. I highly recommend that after you do make the switch, you make the switch retroactive; that is, go into to your existing forms and change the classes of the object that already live there.
