I know, but I want to avoid it. It doesn't like the network drives and CDs, and I don't want to use extensive testing of whether a thing is one of those, or if it's SUBSTed already etc. I can simply do it in VFP now. I'll do some more tests on it - like the behavior of File(), Adir(), FullPath() and similar file and filename related functions on such a drive, also will like to see does it accept an UNC etc. Sounds like worth digging.
