Hi Sylvain,
In fact we don't really know *what* VFP "buffers", how much of what it buffers, or how it determines to revised the current buffer situation.
For instance, it may well buffer the whole table (if size is appropriate) even if *no* or record buffering is in effect.
While I certainly agree that the suggested option of employing TABLE buffering but doing a TableUpdate should have little effect on the buffer "size" it may be erroneous to make any other conclusion on the matter (of buffer "size").

>I think that VFP will buffer only the records that were modified since the last TableUpdate()/TableRevert(). Not the complete table. So if you have the habit of clearing the buffer after each row change, the buffer size should not be bigger in table buffering than record buffering.
