Do you mean that the "funny" char gets stored in the field when you press your function key while the control has focus?

Which function key?
What kind of control (textbox?) is in the column?
Is it bound?
Can you post code that recreates the problem?

>I have a function key that works fine (ON KEY) until I click into a field on a grid. When I click there, it places an italic 'f' as if it is evaluating the key instead of running the ON KEY. There is nothing in the KeyPress, and the grid is a subclass that has no changes from the base code.
