I am developing a report generator for my users that will display
records in a grid based on the specific report chosen. The challenge
I have is the grid formatting. Each report option selected by the user will return different fields in the cursors. For instance, one report return address & owner information to the cursor while another report selection returns billing information to the cursor. Building one grid to handle the resultant data won't work here. Well, it will work, but I want to have more control over the grid after it is populated with the data such as header clicks to sort the records.
I do have grids in other forms that do this with an updatable cursor and appropriate indexes, but that is when I have a cursor that populates the pre-designed grid with all of the same fields everytime. How would one use (1) grid that is populated with a cursor that will have several different possible resultant fields (depending on the query run) and allow for this type of functionality?
Thanks for any ideas!
John.
