LOL. Sorry, about that. I really didn't mean to be enigmatic...just brief.

At DEVCON Fall '97 Robert Green humorously discussed those features we keep on asking for and MS keeps muttering something soothing but nothing changes. I'm paraphrasing, but he said something like: "GET A CLUE!" It was pretty funny, I thought.

So the rest is conjecture...(BTW, if I really knew anything I wouldn't be speculating is public cuz I'd be under an NDA.) Since MS is slowly pulling all it's productions into a component relationships to each other, and since they know about the desire for object oriented reporting, I assume (perhaps naively) that they are working on a Visual Studio-wide solution.

But for now, the report writer in Fox is actually quite powerful and robust. IMO there is a lot that it does well and there are third party tools available for the gaps (Crystal Reports, FoxFire!, and Bullseye, for example), that I think other things (like MTS? ADO?) have a higher priority.

Just my <.02 U.S.

>Hmmm ... an interesting, but very enigmatic reply. Sounds like you know something you can't tell yet ... ? ("Or you'd have to kill me.")
