The mystery is solved. In our base form class we use a user defined property called TAG. This is now a formset property in vfp6 and is; therefore, a reserved word. The converter does not look for this when converting 5.0 apps. We ended up having to send all of our code to Microsoft and it still took a while for them to find it. Having lots of other peculiar conversion problems, but at least we have a direct line to a support person at Microsoft now and he calls us before we call him.

Thanks for all of your suggestions

>>The formset is an SCX formset that uses several VCXs. It has to have something to do with structure as I have removed the data environment, all objects and commented out all code. The Formset forms are based on a form class. I also had a problem with a table that would not open - changed the field lenth to < 254 and it was happy. 5.0 liked 254. (Trying to avoid a memo field...)
