Christian- some insight before you get too far with the TO ASCII clause of REPORT FORM.
This mechanism has never worked very well in VFP. The reports are very finicky in text layout, and tend to hide data by making columns overlap each other. You can make it work on a report by report basis, but it takes a lot of testing, and your layout will get different results depending on the current printer (even though you are not printing anything, VFP still uses the printer driver to decide how to lay out the text).
My past experience with TO ASCII has shown me enough to make me want to avoid it at all costs.
