Thanks for bearing with me. I think the SET HELP is correct because it brings up the table of contents from the correct help file. I can watch the call to the help engine using DoctToHelp's Help Workshop utility and it says "processing icp.gid ..." and icp.hlp is the correct help file.

What's interesting is that when I press F1 the command displayed in the help workshop is HELP_CONTENTS and when I type HELP ID 16 in the command window the command displayed is HELP_CONTEXT.

I'm going to create a simple form based just on vfp classes and try setting the helpcontextid to see if that works.

Have you successfully used context sensitive help?
