They don't want to scan in the text from a supporting document, they want to scan in the supporting documents themselves and tie them to the document they are keying in via a link table with the document image(s) scanned in, or by saving the actual image(s) into a general field. I need to be able to scan the supporting document image(s) from the data entry form by having a scan button. I don't need to have the image data converted to text via OCR or anything else.

I posted the very same question about two weeks ago and I was told to look at the activex control by Espia (see www.espia.com).

I haven't tried it yet, so I don't have any further info.
