>We've recently switched from Novell to an NT server(PentiumII 400mhz). Since then, even though no modification was made in it, our FP2.6 application has been giving many different and odd error messages(patch installed). The .exe and database files are installed on the server and the users execute the application from their windows 95 workstations.

I also switched from Novell to NT Server with a (predominantly) FP2.6 app. I experienced several problems:

1. Sharing violations. You need to actually load shares into NT (remember years ago when you had to run SHARE in AUTOEXEC.BAT on Novell?) When we increased the number of shares in the NT system the violations went away.

2. NT does not recognize the versions when running FOXR.EXE so if you are using the extended version of FP2.6 DOS you need to add the -X arguement to force it to load as the extended version.

3. Novell uses IPX/SPX which is a pretty robust protocol. If you use NetBEUI you may find workstations dropping off the network unexpectedly. Go to TCP/IP.

It took some work (and a couple of NT Server experts) to properly configure the network, but ultimately it was worth it.
