If you are going to alter the memo field directly, I'd just warn you to be careful and have backups. FoxPro can be very fragile when it reads memo fields that's it's designers create. If you put anything like a space or a carriage return that it's not expecting to find it has a bad habit of crashing in a most miserable fashion. It's ok to do it, you just have to be careful.
