G'Day.
I've a VFP 5 app in which I use the MAPI ocx controls to allow the user to send mail. Works like a charm with both Eudora and OutLook Express as the MAPI mail systems.

HOWEVER, if the user has turned MAPI off on his E-mail client (its the only scenario I can test - I don't have a system that does not have MAPI on it), when I try to logon via the MAPI session, the system just waits. And waits. And waits.

Does anyone know how to determine if there is a MAPI server out there? I've scoured the Knowledge base wo no avail. There is a registry entry that shows MAPI is "available", but it shows "available" even when I turn off the MAPI capability in OutLook Express and Eudora.

I need a way to make sure that the APP won't hang if there is no MAPI service available.

Help!
