Jeff,
You don't need to change the size of the field. Foxpro always stores 4 digit years in a date field whether CENTURY is ON or OFF. The date is stored as YYYYMMDD on the disk (it doesn't uses any seperator characters when it stores the date).
I tried to replicate your problem and discovered that the code in Init made no change from my default settings. The following did work.
Double click on the field in the Report Designer.
Click on the ... button to the right of the Format textbox
Select the Date option button
Select the British Date checkbox
>Hi Steve,
>Thks,...but I tried to modify the structure of the dbf file but I can't seem to alter the date from 8 to 10 spaces...

>>>I am using VFP 6.0,....In the data environment of the report form INIT EVET has the following: Set Date to British and Set Century ON

>>Check to see what the short date style setting is on the Date tab of the Regional Settings control panel. If VFP is configured to Use System Setting on the Regional tab of Tools|Options, it will use the Windows setting even with CENTURY ON. This one bit me with VFP 5. I knew my main program and all my date environemnts had CENTURY ON but I was getting 2 digit years. Changing the control panel fixed the problem.
