>I have a request from a client to be able to scan supporting documents from VFP. Has anyone ever done this that could help lead me in the right direction? Basically, they want a data entry form, and the ability to scan documents directly from the form by pressing on a "Scan" button to scan supporting documents for the data they are entering. Is this as simple as finding an ActiveX component, or does it require API calls to access the scanner Twain driver? Please respond if you have any information regarding this.

We have been scanning from within VFP for a few months. The process is not too bad, but it did take some time to test out the WANG Image controls from with in VFP. You have access to those if you ar running VFP 6.0 Professional and lookup the WANG Image stuff in your Windows 95. The trick we have been having is once the scanning is complete, to get the scanned image into our new Visual Image server (Library system) jukebox.

Bottom line, it can be done, you just need to investigate the VFP and Wang/Imaage connection.
