Hello Developers:
I am looking for some guidance concerning my "next step" in the development process. One of the worst feelings in the world is not knowing the next step!
Since the application I am building is my first, I am taking each step slowly. To be honest, I would rather be moving faster, but I don't have the knowledge base yet to do so! Anyway, to let everyone that is reading this post know where I am in the process, I lay out the steps I have taken.
1. I have created all my fields and tables, using proper naming convention, as taught in FoxPro books.
2. I have selected the all my data types for my fields.
2.5 I have put in input masks where needed.
3. I have initiated a auto-key program (with the help of developers on UT!).
4. I have set up field level validation rules for my tables
5. I have joined my tables
6. I have generated referential integrity code and all triggers have been set.
7. I have named all my field captions
8. I have NOT mapped any field types to classes. I have stuck with the defaults. I figured that I can play with that when I am building my forms, because I really don't know how I want my forms set up yet.
______________
I want to make sure all my DATA is taken care of before I go any further. If my data has been taken care of, what do you suggest I do for my next step?
A. Should I begin tackling queries?
B. Should I start generating forms?
C. Should I continue developing the data b/c I have missed something very important?
Thank you very much in advance for any response to this GENERAL question. I just want to make sure I am on the right track and doing things correctly.
Jason
