Yes, I've come across this problem myself. There is a bug in the query/view designer with joining multiple tables. You can overcome this limitation in two ways:
1) Code your queries/views by hand (you can still use the query designer for your basic query and then copy the SQL code and modify it).
2) Use the where clause for your join conditions (works like a charm!)
