Actually, I have yet to find *ANY* documentation that suggests that for a database to be Y2K compliant, that it must 'interpret' the correct century if not given one - in other words, GUESS which century the date is supposed to have. My understanding is that the database (just the data, not the whole system) must be capable of 2 things:

1. Accept a date with a century specification (i.e.: not crash when given a 4-digit year)

2. Retain the century value, regardless of the system date (i.e.: {07/04/1999} is still {07/04/1999} after Jan 1st.

If I'm wrong, I hope someone will enlighten me.
