The real advantage of p-view is that it offers ready-to-use table buffering, i.e. if you're requested to make Save/Cancel_All_Changes interface then it's reasonable to use it. In other aspects there are no discernable differences between view and cursor especially if you operate on less than large data volumes (on large data volumes cursor might be slightly faster).
