In a textbox it only happens in VFP5 if the date is after year 1999. In both VFP5 and 6 if you browse a file with a date field you'll see the full date automatically expand whenever you enter/select the date field despite SET CENTURY OFF. My SET SYSFORMATS is OFF and I've checked various date formats. The others (eg Jim B) seem to agree that the 4 digits show up too.
Strange.
