Sure. VFP has no means of internally managing incremental keys, so it rests on the developer to provide them. Now, the developer must rely on Windows goofy internal buffering and what-not to ensure that sequences remain intact. I have seen time and time again that this can be a problem ---- but not a problem for a server database like SQL or Oracle that totally manage Identity data types (SQL) or sequences (Oracle).
