Right. I did and I re-established my control source for the elements in the grid but the grid just won't show data.

I found the problem just a moment ago. I was sure I wasn't getting something set right. In binding the record source I included the path, "data/filename", and that was the problem! When I changed it to "filename" it all worked again. VFP didn't object to my record source path+filename, it just wouldn't cooperate.
