I'm not sure I understand your question. Both the Treeview and imagelist were dropped right on the test form, no subclassing. I then manually inserted three 16x16 images into the imagelist. The Treeview was populated at run time, with these commands:

this.imagelist = thisform.imagelist1

node = this.nodes.add(.....

Is this what you were after?
