Apparently he knows that, he already put SHARED NOUPDATE in the USE command...

I think, Ken, you need to look for the code which gives the error elsewhere in the label wizard code (away from the USE command). There must be code somewhere that checks for exclusive use of the table and gives this error. Maybe just a few lines after opening the table, maybe in several places hopelessly buried in the label wizard code.

While you're at it, to be safe, you may want to look for any code which writes to that table. If you find it, there's your reason for not changing it to shared/readonly.
