Actually, subclassing aloows to speed up development process. However, you can still create powerful application using VFP base classes, and I think it's preferable way to proceed developing first VFP application.
You're right saying that you have to know exactly how you want forms to work before creating sub-classes etc. Basically, you should have some application design before you start coding.
