Hi Nick,
The problem of SET CPDIALOG OFF is that no character convertion will be applyed to the fields in a table. So if we take a table without a codepage info and that table was created under 866 codepage then the char fields will not be converted to, say, 1251.
I did some digging in the Help and found that to record a codepage info into a table header we can use Cpzero.prg, provided with FoxPro. Cpzero does not ask any questions if we provide proper parameters.
By the way, are you of Russian origin by any chance?
Good luck, Nick.
