Hi Mon,

> What about Visual FoxExpress. It's built on Codebook and has good C/S support, and it is also a RAD tool. Seems like it has the best of the two worlds.

Actually, our 6.0 version is no longer based on Codebook. We have a lot of the same concepts in place and a similar object model, but we've made enough changes and expanded it to the point where it's really not accurate to say it's based on Codebook anymore. In the 6.0 version we decided to create a full objectified data model - sort of like the ADO recordset object - and in doing so, had to move fairly far away from Codebook.

We also wanted to lessen the dependencies on inheritance, improve the composite classes and increase the flexibility. We actually ended up rewriting 80 - 90% of our 5.0 version. The 5.0 version had 295 different classes, most of them concrete classes that you'd actually use in your application. The 6.0 version accomplishes everything that could be done in the 5.0 version with 262 classes (so far) and adds a lot more features to it.

Our 6.0 version is in the very late stages of beta testing and due out RSN. If you decide to get VFE and can hang on a few more weeks, I'd recommend waiting for the 6.0 version.
