I have two projects one in vf5 and one in 6.0

Can anyone give me a rundown on the caveats and how I can be sure I am keeping each project separate. I have had both open at the same time. Is that a big NO-NO? I am currently having difficulty and am wondering if I have corrupted something. Wizemboss? Please help and thanks ahead of time!
