Hi,
I have a VFP5 app that has a report I created with the report writer, that I want to add barcodes to. It is an app that runs exclusively on another workstation, separate from my development machine. In other words, I don't run the app on my dev. pc, I only compile that app here. I purchased the Azalea code39 barcode font from
www.azalea.com. I installed that font on my dev pc so I could compile the program with the new font. Then on my wife's pc which actually has the app, I also installed the font. I opened the report writer and selected the field that I wanted to print out in barcodes, made sure the field was plenty wide, set the font to the newly installed barcode font, and lastly added "*" to the beginning and end of the field's expression for the code39 start and stop bars.
After I compiled the app, it printed fine on my pc, but then I copied the new .exe over to my other pc, and ran the app. The barcode wouldn't print instead the field expression printed with a normal courier font or something, so what I got was *12345678* instead of the barcode.
I called azalea and asked them what the problem was and they said that unfortunately they have had several calls from people using VFP and they were unable to figure out why it wouldn't work and that they could only refer me to Microsoft. A lot of help that is.
Anyone out there figure out a way to make this work??? I'm surprised to find that they are advertising on the UT and yet their font doesn't work with VFP. ?? -Rick
