I've seen the same thing on Netware. Our bottom-line research came to this: it's the networks fault. Some machines on the same network did ok, some not, the ones that worked ok were on a faster hub. On the machines that got the error, it was usually on almost the same record#. We just moved the data files to a local drive.
I'm sure this doesn't immediately help, but it's my experience (shrugging shoulders).

>I have a VFP 5.0 compiled app that runs on a NetWare 3.11 network with a Win95 client. The users are getting an 'Error writing to file' error when the code is trying to GATHER MEMVAR or APPEND BLANK. The table is not corrupted (I can open it in VFP with no problem). I've looked at all the obvious things: users access rights on the server, file attributes, available disk space, exclusive use. There seems to be no rhyme or reason. AND this error is intermittent, so I can't always duplicate it.
